Mini Hi-Res Cable with Sky

I'm in the middle of building a house and will be getting the Coax run on Monday. I need to either get the electrician to order in CT100 (he was originally trying to use RG69 ). Someone I know mentioned using Mini Hi-Res cable instead as it was even better then CT100. Can anyone tell me anything about this cable and if it's ok for Sky digital? Thanks!

Need more info/specs on excty what you mean by mini high res cable??
I presume your sparks was going to run RG59 (not RG69) which is standard co-ax type cable. RG6 would be a better option. RG59 is fine for analog CATV signals but will not support the higher bandwidth used for satellite signals. Quad-shield RG6 is the best to use as it provides higher isolation from noise, especially in longer cable runs. Failing that good quality RG6 would be the preferred of the two options.
Give us some more info on mini high res cable and i'll let you know.

I'm not 100% sure exactly what cable it is. I was told it is even better then CT100. The only thing I can find on the net that could be it is this

Is CT100 not a better option then RG6 or are they the same thing?

That cable won't work. At all.

it's probably not the stuff I was told about. Need to get some more info on it.

We recently got Sky HD with multiroom installed and the installer used different cable for the HD feed then for the regular Sky box. The HD cable feed was brown and seems smaller and more flexible then the black (CT100 me thinks) cable used for the regular feed. Any idea what cable this could have been? The vast majority of the run (around 25 metres at least) is outside.

For standard runs use CT100 cable. For long runs, 40M or more, use CT125.

If the satcure website is right, there's no longer a CT100 cable made, but there's a H109F cable that has the same specs. Searching for that might help more.

Maplins seem to sell CT100 and CT125 but I think it's something like over €2.50 per metre for CT100!

www.satellite.ie have some at a quid per metre.

They're all the suppliers I know of. Naturally there's a few about on Ebay or on the www aswell.

"CT100" has become, rightly or wrongly, a term for a specific class of cabling now - considering we don't have RG standards here, CT's 100/125/150 now refer to specific size, copper on copper, specific standards, etc...

Yes but it also says that H109F has been superseded by WC100.
    And WF100 is actually better.
