Just thought it might be interesting to see what everyone does.

I dont really ride at the moment, except the odd time but I hope to again soon.
This is my lovely old mare Duchess, whom I have 14 years..

I had another horse Werner who was Duchess' foal, but he sadly died in February at the age of 6 (colic wouldnt you know):(

I plan on taking a lot of lessons to improve my flatwork before I buy another horse, and just pootle about on Duchess in the meantime. Eventually I'd like to have a good go at Riding Club activities, particularly eventing.

Hi. Don't have any pics. Working in sweden. I USED to event alot. Competed on international teams to 2* level and took it seriously for a while. Along came parties and girls and the rest is history!!. In the process of buying a young irish horse at the moment to school and sell here.

    Hey all!

I'm new here...As you can see from my post seeking out a riding school in Dublin!
I used to ride a lot as a kid and in my teens, pony club, hunting, some 1 day events. Really loved it but got sick and had to give up...
But I'm back in full health again and dying to get into the sport again too!!

Have been out a bit over the summer, just the odd hack. I really want to get into a decent yard again, maybe start entering a few riding club comps!

Fits-found you pics, she's a beut! Is she in work at the mo or semi-retired?!

    Hullo,

Don`t own (yet, I can dream) a horse but I am a sharer in a good yard. Unfortunatley the arrangement is coming to an end next week :(

It will be a hard adjustment going back to group lessons/ride outs as I just love the independence and responsibility. I may rob a bank, in which I demand alibis...

Thanks :) neither really. She's on holiday until I get a job. I had her in work last year, got her really fit and hunted with the Bray's one day. Crikey the jumps were enormous the day I went out, but she handled it like a pro considering she hadnt been out for 8 years...
Shes smaller than she looks in the photo. Only about 14.3 which is plenty big for me...

Hi Im From Roscomon and have two horses... :D

One is called Ben and hes a 14 year old 14.2hh Connemara gelding - loves to jump and is a super hunter, i have him since he was 3 and he is as safe as houses but still good fun!

My second is called Mandi, shes my new baby! Shes just gone 4 and is a sportshorse by Radolin (KWPN) out of a king of Diamonds x Master Imp Mare. Shes a work in progress and is showing talent for SJ in particular.

Two lovely horses there. Mandy certainly has nice breeding. Your connemara is a stunner ... I think I've a soft spot for that type...

Hey Bendihorse. Are you hunting in roscommon this year. I used to hunt with the harriers there.

Hi Togster! Have to admit that i never really had the bottle for hunting (used to let my friends hunt Ben because i knew he loved it) but the few times i did ride out it was with the 'Co Roscommon Hunt'

    http://www.roscommonhunt.com/

Nice crowd in it. Where are you from yourself?

You might even know ben from being out then togster, karen lyons from ballygar equestrian centre had him out a good few times, not so much last season, but the season before that she had him out a good bit!

I lost my bottle a few years back, got bucked off a small 13.2hh pony after he bolted with me *why couldn't it be a big snorting stallion  * and fractured vertebrait in my lower back...

I get panicked now when im riding in open spaces, especially when hunting because its so hard to get the horse to do what YOU want and not follow the field - i spend the whole day hanging on the reins which is not fair on the horse or my arms so i decided to call it a day.

Hopefully, if i can get my new mare going well ill start doing a bit of competing at sjai level with her and get my kicks riding along the beach - always feel safer there because theres no obstacles in the way! :)
