    Hi,
Need a little help, getting married in Co. Kildare next year, and would love a really different wedding cake (ideally a castle but not a fairy pink girly one!). Anyone know of a place that does really different wedding cakes?

    Hi,

I can not reccomend Cakes and Co http://www.cakesandco.com/cakesandcowedding.html
highly enough, we had a version of the Snowpeople and Penguins (they will modify the cake any way you want to) but they have really lovely castles also. The cake also tasted wonderful as well :D

You could go all the way and have a *completely different cake*

    How about a cheese cake

No, not a cheesecake....a wedding cake made with different sized rounds of cheeses!

We're having a small one made for those folks who may prefer cheese and biscuits to a sweet dessert.

I'm sure its not what you're looking for, but depends how different you want to be.

There's an award winning deli close to me who can make these (and is making mine). Let me know if you're interested, and I'll pass on the contact details.

Thanks CathyMoran, like the look of there web site but it does not say anything about delivery.. (i don't fancy trying to drive the cake down, i know it just won't end well!)
and dollydishmop, wow that is different.. but i think the road to my divorce is paved with cheese... (my husband to be might reconsider if i told him we were not having a cake cake)..but if you actually have any pictures i would love to see..

I think that they do deliver at a charge, my brother got the cake in sections and the restaurant put it together, it really is not that bad, sure give them a call, it is no harm. Again, I can not reccomend them highly enough, when we look back at our wedding photos one of the things that we always get great comments on is the cake.
