    Hi lads,

excuse my ignorance but i'm looking for a shop i can walk into tomorrow and ask them to search the hard drive on my girlfriends laptop to see if a text file she accidentally deleted can be recovered.

If anyone here has any advice I will write their names on marble in the annals of a temple of their choice. If you think you can do it yourself I'll give you 40 euro for ten minutes work or a definitive answer. I live in the D2/4 area, so anywhere in a 30 minute drive from there would be great.

my mobile is PM ME*, anytime you like is fine but i have to have an answer by 10am tomorrow Friday,

    thanks,

    Des

    * edited to replace phone number

There are programs that will do this for you: Filesalvage and Data Rescue. But neither of them are free...

Des, I just edited your post there to remove your phone number. I understand the urgency and why you posted it, but I don't think its such a wise plan. People can PM you and you can share it then if you are happy with that.

as for your issue, the professor has you on the right track there.... Filesalvage... id fork out for it now and do the job yourself. Cheaper than paying a shop and you will have a faster result. If you need any help or get stuck PM away!

so heres hoping this software will do the trick.
    thanks again, des.

i'm in dublin and have filesalvage...

don't use the machine for ANYTHING until the job gets done - you don't want to chance any sectors getting overwritten
