1973 MG BGT for sale

    Hi,

here it is again folks. It is a 1973 MG BGT in Teal Blue in good condition, great runner with a few small cosmetic issues of surface rust and some bubbles.

The floorpans and sills are not rusty.

This car has an extensive service history, including all receipts, MOTs etc going back to 1977. There is a folder about 3 inches thick of receipts. It has been very well looked after and for a 34 year old car it shows.

    It has

    - New engine 25 years / approx 40,000 miles ago. Being honest its hard to tell on these old MGs if mileage is truly genuine but engine condition is excellent and drives great. A

    - Just converted to unleaded with new cylinder head, now doing approx 30mpg.

    - Stainless steel petrol tank.

    - Radiator replaced.

    - Brakes overhauled. (By Johnny Flynn, Dun Laoghire )

    - Walnut trim interior and wooden sports steering wheel (The steering is so precise ! )

    - New mini-light wheels and tyres

    - Kenlow fan fitted

    - new MOT 2 weeks ago so physically sound and safe. This involved having some welding done to rear spring hangers and fitting of a new horn !

Its not perfect, but its not expensive either, it has small areas of surface rust and some bubbles. The sunroof leaks a little in heavy rain. The vent on the bonnet also leaks in heavy rain but have just fitted a mesh under this vent to prevent this.

I would like to get 3k euro for this which is considerably less than the 4.5k i originally advertised it for. This was based on condition compared to other similar cars on the Irish market, cars which are still for sale. I think the Irish market is overpriced and so i have set a more reasonable price as i need to sell.

I have had a good bit of work done to it since then after taking it to Johnny Flynn and having him go over it, every fault he pointed out has been attended to. If you have the skills to correct the cosmetic issues then you'll have a very fine specimen in a great colour safe in the knowledge that it is road worthy and mechanically sound.

If there are any questions please let me know,

    all the best

    Osh

Like most MGs it is not perfect but it is certainly not even close to being a project car, this one is ready for the summer and with a few small jobs will be one of the nicest around, especially in this colour and for the money.

I have many more photos if you'd like to see them, car is in D4 if you'd like to take a look.

Not looking for silly money on this one, offers around 4500k euro.

    thanks

Maybe he has sold it but believe me my friend, and I have been watching sales of MG BGTs in this country for over a year now, they DO NOT sell fast and thats a fact. If you took the time to study the market you would know that and would not be LOL ing at all!! LOL my A......

Mg b gt's must be one of the easiest cars to come buy. If you had been "studying" the market you would of came here a year ago when it was origionally posted. My sincere apologies if it's still for sale.

Who comes to Boards .ie looking for a car? Get real, you go to Carzone or Buy and Sell even , the newspapers, classic car clubs. I can tell you of MGB GTs which have been on sale for at least a year, they certainly are not one of the easiest cars to find , far from it. Loads of them in England , yes but not here ...and the ones that are here are way overpriced, that's why they don't sell!!!!. It was no long shot to enquire if his car was or was not sold . Your glib reply shows that you don't have a clue re MGB GT's and how they sell in this country. You should think twice before you post glib one liners without the knowledge to back it up.
