Why the change?

It used to be spam at adverts.ie when there was a new post in the thread you were subscribed to.

    Now its blah at blahblahblahblah.com.

Why not from spam at boards.ie to adverts at boards.ie when a new thread is post to subscribed thread?

    No

You got an email to tell you when there was a new post in a thread you had subscribed to.

The address of the email has changed

Maybe I can explain better, I'm getting these emails too.

When you get a reply to your advert on adverts.ie the mails come from blah@blahblahblah.com whereas they previously came from spam@boards.ie

the blah blah thing might not work well with all email accounts and could lead to mails goin' into the spam folder.

Any mods have an idea why this changed?

I imagine when all these spammers sign up and regi :at: boards dot eye ee sends them a welcome mail, then poor reginald ends up spammed into oblivion.

The problem is that if you change it to blah@blahblah.com, then an MX lookup on that domain will fail probably, and many people's notifications will end up in junk mail or blocked completely.

At least admin@nospamdiediedie.boards.ie should pass an MX lookup, but any mail to it should be > NULL
