Not sure if this is the best place to put this, but it is related to advertising on TV.

Some guy went to ALOT of trouble to get that screaming budweiser ad off Irish TV (and the complaint was upheld!)

The complaint (and the response - click link above) gave me a good laugh....
A television advertisement for Budweiser bottled beer was the subject of a number of objections. The advertisement commences with a person screaming in a high pitched voice and three men responding separately to reach the source of the scream. In the course of the journey, one rides standing on two horses, another uses a luggage trolley from a train station while a third, after running and jumping through a busy restaurant eventually arrives on a type of rickshaw.

The source of the screaming is a fourth man standing outside a pub and they accept his invitation for a drink. The four are then seen drinking bottles of Budweiser.

A range of issues were raised in the complaints and they included the following:
    1. The advertisement glorifies stupid behaviour for the sake of having a beer.
    2. The advertisement features a James Bond style chase and this contravenes section 7.4(d) of the Code.
    3. The advertisement features all four men drinking and this contravenes section 7.7(a) in relation to the “buying of a large round”.
    4. The advertisement line of “Answer the Call” is similar to the Irish Rugby Teams anthem of Ireland’s Call.

One complaint felt that this was one of the most objectionable advertisements that he had ever witnessed.

The code forbids James Bond style chases in ads? THOSE BACKSTARDS..

EDIT: I looked it up, and apparently making the consumption of alcohol appear a challenge is not allowed, though why this doesn't apply to the guy who roller-skates through an obstacle course to get to the pub is beyond me.
Bizarrely, it is also forbidden to link
the presence or consumption of alcohol to aggressive or anti-social behaviour
which is pretty much the cornerstone of most "Drink Responsibly" ads, so they should be banned too.

    Is this for real? FFS.

As for number three perhaps this is the golden opportunity to have those WKD ads banned as they all feature groups drinking at the end.

Apparently number 3 is to do with buying of a large round!?

Where at any point did any of them offer to buy a round?

Not that i partiularly like the ad or anything but is there some way of complaining about the stupidity of removing it?

There are so many drink ads that are similar to that ad (Guiness comes to mind).
