I am pretty sure I put one of thses threads up before, but I can't find it when I use the search function. Anyway before I was looking for a fm transmitter for my dad, but now I want to get one for my ipod nano 2 gb. Can anyone make any recommendations?

Cheapest would be best, would rather not ebay as want to use credit card and some of the sellers dont have this as a payment option.

    Any help would be great.

O yeah I was going to buy the one in virgin yesterday but the clerk gave an honest answer and said people get alot of interference with them and she bought one and said it wasn't good.

    Thanks.

All fm transmitters are terrible. Parhaps buy something like this?

I dont know how that works really, maybe I should just get the itrip.

Basically connects directly to your car stereo. I have one, took 10mins to install directly to my mp3 player, and the quality is perfect, like cd.

ebay is great for small items like this. We got one for about a tenner including postage last week from ebay.

The majority of ebay sellers accept paypal, so you can use your credit card with them. Peats sell them too but will cost you about 30 euros.

Irish Grumpy, how does it actually connect to the car stereo though, through what?

Stephen, link to the ebay seller? Was it a good buy, much interference?

Acts as an aux interface. I have no cd changer in my car, so the one I bought uses that connection.

Is the AUX connection behind the radio? AS in you have to take out the radio in order to do it.

In order to connect it yes. Check the link for more info.

i got one off this guy about 2weeks ago , i got it for 1cent all in all it cost 6.84 to send over. the reception is pretty good on it, sometimes newstalk interferes with it as ur station selection is 106.9, 107.1 , 107.3 and 107.8 i think. like you have it grand and then an hour into your trip it starts to fade, not sure if thats got to do with my car radio or the unit

I got one of these and its pretty good. Also works as a charger/mount. Wideband FM coverage too and the seller accepts paypal. Free shipping on it or you can buy it cheaper and pay shipping which makes it more expensive.

The seller also has the model recommended by others here

as in the previous thread which lead me to the 5 in 1 unit.

I bought this no-name FM transmitter from Smyths (all it says on it
is "FCC ID: POSEF-6208") and it worked. It transmits on 4
frequencies from 88.1 to 88.7 and has a fine tuner. It can sound real
crappy if the volume of sound sent to it is too high, so just turn the
volume of the MP3 player down. If you want volume, use the radio
    volume, not the MP3 player.

Only down side to this thing is it has a manual on-off and if you
forget, you will drain the batteries.

PM me your address and you can have it for free! I dont want it!

Our one was from the same seller, but it allows you to tune it to any frequency in the FM band and store 3 presets.

i've found griffin itrip works best with my ipod. It's not the cheapest but it works. Using DX or LX for stereo/mono & you get the broadest frequency range for transmission.

Only problem is that the frequency band is getting tighter & tighter. I find that when bringing it on roadtrips having to change frequencies every now & again as local/national stations cut in. Don't really think there's anything that can cure that. Anyone know of any DAB units doing the rounds yet??

I got an itrip last week ,seems fine . It's not got the same quality as standard radio stations ,but then it hasn't got a 100FT antenna sticking out of it :D
