    Hello Everyone,

The 2012 Games is just around the corner with many teams competing.
Olympic Freestyle Wrestling is included this time round therefore we
are planning to select a team to represent Northern Ireland which is a
rapidly growing sport within the province and our aim is to introduce
it to every city/town within Northern Ireland.

We need maximum exposure to promote our sport so here is the pitch:
We currently have three Wrestling Clubs, Knockagh Wrestling Club,
Greenisland (The Raiders), Larne Panthers and Waterside Sharks Take-
    Down Club, Drumahoe, L/Derry.

We are also bringing Wrestling to Belfast with the introduction of
the 'BELFAST BULLS’ Wrestling Club which will be at 'Loughside Recreation
Centre' Saturday 8 September (Taster Day) from 1pm - 4pm.

Belfast Bulls Wrestling Club training begins Tuesday 11 September
from 7pm - 9pm and every Tuesday thereafter.

If you would like to see wrestling in action before September, you
are welcome to come along to our Wresting Camp at the University of
    Ulster, Jordanstown.

    Here are the details:

Greenisland Knockagh Wrestling Club, in conjunction with the Northern
Ireland Olympic Wrestling Association (NIOWA), is holding a three day
Olympic Freestyle Wrestling Camp in the University of Ulster,
Jordanstown Sports Centre from Thursday 9th August to Saturday 11th
    August 2007.

Ages will range from 8 yrs to 19yrs old for both male and female.
The sessions will run from 10am - 4pm each day.

Coaching will be structured for both Novice and Experienced wrestlers
with workshops on Nutrition & fitness.

(There will be submission wrestlers taking part this year as FILA has
    introduced new guidelines)

Students from mainland UK and all of Ireland will be taking part.

I hope that this will prick your curiosity, and you will agree
    to come along.

Don't forget - Bring a camera and tell your friends ;)

Thank you for taking the time to read this message!

I'm interested in submission wrestling and Judo so I'd like to come up and see this. Unfortunetaly I'm outside the 8-19 year old age bracket :(.

I'm surprised to see that you're trying to make a Northern Irish Olympic team? Separate to the Irish OT and the British OT?

Pity you didn't leave a few more contact details.

    Hi,
We do have a Submission Wrestling open session at the UUJ Gym on the Saturday 11/08/07 from 2pm-4pm (apologies, I should have stated that)Johnny Burrows will be taking the session, the cost for this is only £5.00 per session. :)

There has always been a 'representing Northern Ireland Wrestling Team' for the Olympics & Commonwealth games as well as Britain & Ireland. Our National Coach John O'Rawe competed.

Northern Ireland Wrestling has been around for many years, however it is all happening, now that we have several clubs running & more to come and are getting maximum exposure to promote the sport, which is fantastic!

I can send you a contact number if you need more info?
We are also advertised in the 'Irishnews'.

Hope this is of use to you
    Kind regards, irishkitty

They have an independant team fot the commonwealth alright but are part of Britain as far as the olympics go, in boxing ireland is united like rugby, not sure about wrestling though it sound like they go under the british banner.

Rush Boxing club and Rush Martial Arts head coach.
