I know I've posted something like this before on these boards but I was wondering if anyone knows how I join a paranormal investigation group or start one or something to that effect. I have been interested in anything paranormal and I want to investigate it. So please, help a guy out!

    Hi segarox

Glad to hear your interested. We're actually hoping to organise one for Charleville Castle soon, we're just waiting to hear back what dates it might be available and then it will all be posted up hear. We're hoping for some time around the end of this month or early september.

There are a few groups around that do open investigations aswell, sometimes they will post here if they are willing to bring people along, or you could check out http://www.praofi.org/ , they are another group that sometimes does open investigations.

I've had a chat with Dudley about doing an investigation at Chareleville in September, and at present, I'm looking at some time in the first half of September, though I need to check what days I'd be able to organise an investigation for... I could only do an investgation for up to the 14th-15h of September, because I want 3-4 days rest before I start back at Uni. I'll see what I can do though.

That's great but I'm interested in investigating all aspects of the paranormal. Call me smug if you like but I want to be an expert in the field.

I hope you're willing to invest quite a few years into this field if you want to be an expert at it, as I've been at it actively for 3 years, and I'm no expert, even though I've had an interest in it since I was 10... making it 14 years now since I first had an interest. However, I think that I'll never be an expert in it all, because it's such a broad subject. I personally live by the proverb "a wise man admits he knows nothing", but hey, that's me...

Well, I not aiming to be THE expert but I was aiming to become more knowledgable in the field and I'm willing to put in the time to achieve that goal. It would be great if I could make myself a career out of the paranormal.

Thanks :) And yes, I agree... caution is always a good thing to exercise.

All I can say to that is good luck! Very few people have made a career out of being involved in the paranomral, and usually, they have their paranormal "thing" as a hobby, while taking up a job that pays the bills, and covers said hobby.

I suppose to do that I'd have to be a writer.

Well, whatever works as they say. I imagine that I'll most likely be in the IT sector myself, with writing and photography on the side... along with the paranormal and volunteer stuff...
