    HI

I'm trying to book a hotel for few nights in sept , but most of the ones I've picked get awful reviews on tripadvisor.com

wondering if any one had any they could personally recommend

obviously cheap would be good , but not the only consideration

Jury's Inn in Islington. Stayed there two weeks ago, would certainly recommend it. Nothing fancy, but clean, modern, nice bar, good food, nice staff. It's near Angel tube station. It was £99 for a Saturday night between three of us.

Can you give us any idea of your price range? Area you want to stay in?

Jury's Inn, Express by Holiday Inn or Premier Travel Inn's are generally the "upper" end of the budget market and tend to be functional enough.

I stayed in Hilton @ Tower Bridge, if you book direct on their website you can get a great discounted price especially if you book 3-4 weeks before your stay. The hotel is as central as you can get, 400yds to the tube (so very accessible to either airport). It is only open about 18 months and is well worth its 4**** but if you book early u dont pay 4**** prices, would highly recommend

We stayed here last weekend. In Passfield Hall, 3 min walk to Euston station. Cheap, bright, spacious rooms with huge breakfasts. Just check if they still have it for your dates.

    hey

buffybot , area didn't matter so much once it was near enough to tube etc

go 2 weekends on that ryan air 1 cent offer

and price well was either gonna go cheap and cheerful or a nice place and treat the other half

I looked at that lse site, was interesting but the prices were much same as a few apartments i seen

in the end found the custom house hotel on the docks
142 for two nights including brekkie, seems to get overall good reviews
    (and 1000 piggie points)
and is near enough to the o2 dome , cos gonna take advantage of the weekend to go see Prince

what to do with the second weekend i dunno
are both torn between just going out and doing the night life bit, or seeing the museums etc, last time i spent nearly a day in natural history place

but thanks for help - i looked at everywhere suggested, and will soon see if i deal well or not

pity londons such an expensive place

I'm looking for a hotel in November, for a Thursday and Friday so one of the weekend deals is no good. So far I'm looking at €300 for the two nights for two people. I'm trying to spend less.

75 euros per person per night is not that bad for london to be honest...

I wouldn't doubt that is correct but I'd like to spend the money on nice meals etc. and not so much on the accommodation. Nothwithstanding I had my eye on a new computer :)

stayed in Jurys Inn, Heathrow that was £59 a night. Thought it was ok.

also Days Inn, Victoria I think that was about £69. There was another one I stayed in near Victoria as well around the same price, but I forget the name.

custom house hotel was unavailable - I booked it with one of those "24 hr email confirmation " - and got the email after the bank holiday :(

Found the Iccon/Mespil for 156 for two nights inc brekkie - reviews are excellent but its kind far from o2 dome and thought might work out as expensive trying to get back after a late night

So went back looking at the London school of economics that botvot posted

2 beds, private room with own bathroom, English breakfast 190 for two nights . Bankside House
Can get the Thames clipper too and from the concert - they now drop you at the o2 dome 8 quid return trip, and runs til 4 am !

so if of any interest to any one for two people :

    return flights 0.04 inc taxes/charges
    accommodation/ brekkie 190.00
    easybus from stanstead 30.00 return
thames clipper 8.00 1 way trip
    Prince tickets 110.00

now if I could only find a hotel in Egypt for mid Oct : (

without a doubt you have to go to The Hoxton! i stayed there and have been telling anyone who'll listen about the place. its so funkyand its location is perfect...your not far from liverpool street station but also in the middle of a really cool little centre of eclectic restaurants and bars. its quiet enough that youll get a good nights sleep but near a whole pile of great places to go get busy!

Its actually a hotel but they call themselves the urban hostel...its gorgeous comfy but really edgy,...its red brick indoor, the staff are really helpful and the bar and restaurant are great!!!!

its not not as cheap as a hostel but not as expensive as a hotel...

    www.hoxtonhotels.com..............do it

You could also try any of the other big london Unis - most have halls of residencies in the city centre. Bankside house is right opposite the Tate Modern . Another lovely hotel is the IBIS aldgate east - really modern rooms, well sound proofed from road noise, great location if you like currys (just around the corner from Brick Lane) and over the tube station so great transport links. I normally try and stay in Jurys Islington but it has got more expensive of late - you can still get good deals on www.laterooms.com however.

Yeah I stayed here as well last October and it was great. Nice clean rooms, central location, farmers market around corner etc
The only bad thing I will say that the Breakfast was ridiculously expensive so just go to one of the cafes around the area and get something for a fraction of the price.

I'd like to recommend the Apex City Hotel. Very sleek and modern. Nice touches like you can borrow a DVD free from reception to watch on the player in your room. Very good rates at the weekend since it's a business hotel. Very handy for Tower station.
