Sky digibox installed in Spanish apartment. How does one go about getting RTE into system?

I reckon you will have to have an English or Irish paid up subscription with Sky in order to get RTE.

If nobody here knows i bet someone knows on this Spanish/English forum at

You'll need a friend or family member to order a second hand subscription registered to someone living in Ireland. You can have them supply your bank details. Then the card needs to be paired to the box. Ideally this would have been done in Ireland.

If you're not keen on going down this route, there are plenty websites offering to do all the work for you -- at a cost. Just have a search.

You'll need a big dish to pick up RTE in Spain. It's on Astra 2D which has a fixed beam on the UK/Ireland.

Due to fresnel zones in the aerial beam edge, as you go south in Spain, you lose the signal and then back again. Gibralter is possible, but some areas further north impossible.

So it very much depends on exact location. See what size dish anyone nearby uses. 2.5m in some areas and even then erratic. Some places 1.2m
