Boring saturday afternoon, I decided to watch Jesus Christ Superstar on DVD.

I remember seeing it in the cinema many years ago and it had an effect on me. For the first time I got a glimpse of the humanity of the man.

It tells the story in a way that was relevent to the time it was being told not the time it happened.

What do people think of the idea of the modern musical presentation of the suffering and death of Jesus Christ?
Is it blasphemous or was it inspired perhaps to bring Jesus to a new generation?

Erm... Jesus Christ Superstar as per thread title.
I know it's a few years old now but in Biblical terms it's modern.

Thanks, been out of touch and thought there may have been a new one. The one in case was wonderful and thought provoking.

God's message can be portrayed in several ways. If accurate to scripture, this film is one of those means. I haven't seen it mind.

Any film or movie, if it has decent ties to what is written is another way of portraying ones faith. Like Mel Gibson and Passion of the Christ.
