For anybody who is interested, there is a Judo Club now in Cabra.

Classes are held in Cabra Parkside, Community Sports Centre in John Paul Park
( Just off the Nephin Road )

Classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursday from 8pm - 10pm and on Saturday from 11am-1pm

Classes cost €5 for adults and €3 for children.

Anybody of any fitness is welcome to attend.

    How to get there:
    Buses: 122, 120, 38, 38A
Train: Ashtown station is about a 10 minute walk away
Driving: If you are heading out the Navan Road, from the city centre, about 500 metres past the Parkgate Motors showrooms, take a right at the Garda Station, head down the Nephin Road, when you meet the roundabout, take a left, the entrance to the sports centre is about 200 metres up on the left-hand side

as you can see it was posted over two years ago but if it was still going I would love to know.

    Cheers

You are surrounded by clubs mate.

The Judo club is still going. In the same hall there is Japanese Karate, ITF Taekwon-Do, around the corner in Cabra there's me www.iutf-dublin.com, across the road from me is combat martial arts - kickboxing but more for kids.
Down the road from me is a WTF Taekwon-Do club at the back of me there's Roper www.ko-martialarts.com on the Navan Road there's an AIMAA club in Ashington. (wish they'd all piss off :) )
There's Black Dragon kickboxing in Castleknock Village also.

    Take your pick!

    Thanks for the mention Jon.

Jay, if you're interested we're beside the level crossing between Ratoath Road and Ballyboggan Road. We do BJJ, Kickboxing, MMA and submission wrestling. You can pm me or ring me 085-8320174 for more info.

Whatever you decide to do, have fun!

If you would like to try a traditional karate system, there is the Kantanni Karate-Do club in the Coolmine Sports Complex beside the Blanchardstown Shopping Centre. Training is on Wednesday evenings 7:30 to 9:30 and Saturdays 4 to 6pm.

cheers Peter but tbh Blanch is a bit of a trek as I don't drive and getting into the winter and all I'd say I'd be fed up quite easily going up and down but thanks for the info anyway.

I'm going to try Roper's tonight and see what it's like.

the first class was severe to say the least. I really had forgotten how intense a first training session actually is. My psychic senses tell me I will feel pain in the morning when I wake up. Certainly a good source of activity during the week.
    Thanks again lads.
