I suspect this may be more apt in a region-specific forum! The link with Work & Jobs is tenuous at best :P

Incidentally, http://www.irishrail.ie/home/ if you want to look up dart times and stations...

three dart stations (almost) servce baldoyle
    bayside is the main one,
howht junction leaves you directly into the industrial estate,
and the new baldoyle dartstation (opening 2008!!) will leave you in "the coast".

so live wherever you like and just get the dart.
tbh, i live in baldoyle and its a nice old place.
if you want more residential / upmarket you can rent nice houses in bayside which borders balydoyle

Depending what part of Baldoyle your also near sutton dart station.
You will be able to judge the area by taking a bit of a walk around it,Down by the elphin pub is really nice and a 5 minute walk to the station.

Again, depends on where you're going to be working. Sutton is a very nice (albeit pricey) area to live in and within easy walking distance of Baldoyle.
Portmarnock is also worthy of consideration - it's on the same DART branch as the "Coming Soon!" Baldoyle station and is quite near Baldoyle if you go to its Southern end by a number of bus routes (you could walk except for the safety issue of a lack of a footpath).

Anywhere on the Dart line after Baldoyle heading into town are no go areas. Except Raheny and Clontarf.

Harsh, Killester isn't a bad spot at all nor is Harmonstown
Kilbarrack and Howth Junction have justified bad reputations though.

But don't you that most people in Kilbarrack actually live in Raheny

Killester is a nice area and is closer to most of Clontarf than Clontarf road dart station.
