Is it possible to have a Sky Multi room subscription abroad? I have a UK sub. If it was possible i would consider a Multi Room Sub. I live in ROI.

If you have a UK subscription, connecting it to an Irish landline may result in it being terminated. I take it you don't have your digibox currently connected? Same rule applies if you connect a digibox with a FTV card to an Irish landline.

If you get multiroom, all digiboxes must be connected to the same operational phone line, so you'd essentially be screwed. An Irish sub wouldn't be a problem, of course.

I dont have it connected. Although i sometimes connect using a digidialler for box office or when ive needed to upgrade sky box to sky+ and recently to Skyhd. I would now like to get some use out of my inactive sky+ box.
b.t.w. The Dialler does not work with multiroom.

Obviously the phoneline is required for multiroom to prevent a cheap subsidised subscription card being shared around the households of friends and family.
It could mean a loss of up to €51 per month per box to Sky otherwise, not a risk they are willing to take.
On a single sub, they are getting their money wherever you are, doesnt matter financially.
A FTV card doesnt get you any of the subscription channels so again they are not losing out wherever you are.

To use the Sky+ recording you will have to pay at least a "non-subscription monthly subscription" (my interpretation) of €15 which will only get you FTV recording or perhaps other services recording (eg Setanta)
This fact is hidden in the Sky+ T&Cs and dont know anyone who has availed.
No details on whether this requires phoneline.
