Opinions please.... am i overreacting here?

Over a month ago I reported a player for DB protection abuse to blue square.... I got a generic reply telling me that it was being looked after... 2 weeks later nothing and I again write to them and get same generic response.... this week I wrote them a stronger mail demanding a reply which I got this morning..

This is the hand in question..... tell me that's not DB protection abuse.... The maddening thing about it is that they point out that I have used my DB 12 times in a month.... which for me is prob 2 or 3 disconnects while playing 4 or 6 tables...... some of mine I disconected in the blinds with AA and flopped the nuts and was all in for 2....

    GAME #594732732: Texas Hold'em NL $1.00/$2.00 2007-07-07 22:11:32
    Table "TURBO" Morristown
    Seat 1: mogge7109 ($40.50 in chips) DEALER
Seat 5: jonycarpet ($191.48 in chips)
Seat 6: demacc ($217.95 in chips)
Seat 10: RBKtrondheim ($53.58 in chips)
    jonycarpet: Post SB $1.00
    demacc: Post BB $2.00
    *** HOLE CARDS ***
    Dealt to jonycarpet [HJ HA]
    Dealt to demacc [C3 S3]
    RBKtrondheim: Call $2.00
    mogge7109: Raise $4.00
    jonycarpet: Call $3.00
    demacc: Call $2.00
    RBKtrondheim: Call $2.00
    *** FLOP *** [C8 H3 SA]
    jonycarpet: Check
    demacc: Bet $12.00
    RBKtrondheim: Fold
    mogge7109: Fold
    jonycarpet: Call $12.00
    *** TURN *** [D7]
    jonycarpet: Check
    demacc: Bet $30.00
    jonycarpet: Allin $0.00 DB Protection
    *** RIVER *** [CJ]
    *** SUMMARY ***
    Total pot $68.00 Rake $2.00
    demacc: wins $68.00

Imagine the river action if he hadn't cheated...... someone tell me this was genuine???

Anyway seems they base the DB cheating on the number of times you use it and not the way you use it!!!!!

    Here's their reply

    Thank you for your e-mail

Please accept our apologies for the delay in replying to your query, we h
ave received the following from the IPoker network team:

Firstly poker support do monitor for DP abuse and where conclusive eviden
ce is found we will revoke a players Disconnection protection privilege.

We have investigated this complaint thoroughly regarding the player jonyc
arpet and can see that he has only used his DP 3 times this month, althou
gh the manner of these DP's could be interpreted as suspicious they could
also be genuine, due to no conclusive evidence of abuse being found and
no excessive use of this facility occurring we will only be warning playe
r jonycarpet with regards to this issue, however we will be monitoring hi
    m closely in the future.

Please note that we do have tables available where there is no Disconnect
ion Protection offered, these are available on a wide variety of games at
all different levels for players to choose.

We have also noticed that player demacc/demacc has used his DP 12 times t
his month again with no evidence of abuse being present, due to this fact
we recommend that you suggest the player could upgrade his own internet
connection or computer specification in order to achieve a better playing
    experience.

Moving forward, should you require any assistance now or in the future th
en please do not hesitate to contact us.

    Thanks for choosing Blue Square.

I agree it does look a tad suspicious in this case!

As if that makes a difference. I still get timed out of hands and my connection and computer are WAY better than the average player.

Looking at the hand in question I don't think that it is abuse personally. Abuse tends to happen when facing or chasing a draw of somekind. They will remove disconnect protection if they think it is being abused. It was removed from one of our players even though he was not abusing it, just had bad disconnection problems which I was made aware of repeatedly.

If you anyone ever has a problem that has not been resolved speedily enough then please get in contact with myself and I can get it chased up for you.

I disagree with that Mike..... He wasn't sure if his A was good and disconnected on purpose in my opinion rather than calling a bet...... A month trying to fob me off with generic replies wasn't great but just to add insult to injury they point out to me that I've been using DB protection!!!!! What an insult!!!

A simple reply of " we've invesgitated the matter and will kepp and eye on the player in question etc etc and we've taken your concern on board" ..... would have done fine....

Time for a new poker site methinks.......

can someone explain db protection to me? i always play where there is none.

is it not the same as a fold or does he get chips back or what?

Db is a system where if you get disconnected during a hand when you have put in money your bet will be protected after disconnect.... example where it is useful...
you bet 100 with the nuts on the river and villan goes all in for 150.. your about to press call and somehow you get disconnected..... he doesn't get the pot... his 50 is returned to him and yur bet stands... you win what was in the middle when you got disconnected..

    good idea?? yeah...

but the other side of it..

There is 200 in the middle you have a set and villan bets 100 to you you raise him all in for 400 more.... he has a flush draw and cant call.... he pulls his internet connection and the DB comes in considering him all in for the 100.. he gets turn and river for free and wins the pot of 400...

    Good idea?? I think not...

think about in live terms... same senario.... you have the flush draw this time and vilan goes all in it's 300 more for you to call but there is 400 in the middle... you ahh no I won't call but deal the turn and river and if i hit I'll just take whats in the middle and I'll just stand up for a minute.....

In fairness to i-poker they do have non DB tables available but there it's not possible to play these only when multitabling...

    DB explained???

I dont think villan Disconnected on purpose here. IF he's only done 3 times in a month you'd think he pick better spots instead of a pot with only $70 in it.

OK maybe it wouldn't change too much but it's not clear AJ is going to be the best hand. This doesn't look like disconnect abuse to me, you get a limited amount of times to DP so why would he do it in a small pot.
