Where can I recycle old footwear?

I did a big clean up recently and have recycled most of the rubbish I found, but I have nearly two refuse bags full of old wellies and runners. They are all in too bad condition to sell or give to charity.

Is there anywhere that recycles these?

Theres no shortage of places that will repair your footwear, then you can recycle them by wearing them again instead of running off to buy new shoes.

These are years old, ones we had since we were 10 years old none of them would fit.

LOL-Remember living in Germany for a bit and i mean in the ass end of nowhere and there was a clothes recycling skip there? Town had about 500 people in it. We have how may in Ireland and nothing that facilitates like that???

Could give them to a charity, may be useful to someone less fortunate than you.

Sorry. guess I didn't even read your post, just the title. I was thinking of someone else who buys new shoes almost every week.

Some recycling centres do take clothes.

If they're not fit for wearing then DON'T give them to Charity. You're simply passing on the disposal costs to them. A bit like stealing from a Charity :(

As for what to do with them, I'm afraid I can't offer any advice, perhaps tie the laces together and throw them across some telegraph wires
