I am looking for a supplier for plaster or more specifically Herculite II
Well i think thats the name of it, about 5 years ago I had a place up O connell street, well it was right up the top that supplied it but they have gone..

Any ideas where I can get it or something like it?

    update,
I think Herculite or the plaster used for these chess pieces is in fact the same plaster material used fro making fireplaces.. you know the type.. the white fully moulded fireplaces..
So any help in getting a supplier or any ideas appreciated !

There is a pottery/ceramics supply shop called RPM which used to be on dorset street and may still be. They may have info for you.

RPM have moved out to Ballymount in Walkinstown. They used to be on Dorset st, a stone's throw from O'Connell St. they probably have the stuff.

I have not been able to get Herculite here in Ireland.
But you can get 25kg Bags of Dental Plaster for
about 15 Euros from Building Suppliers. I get mine
    in "Brooks" in Limerick.

For Modeling and making chess pieces or model buildings etc
Light Casting plaster or Plaster of paris is useless.
Dental Plaster is WAAAYYYY more stronger and just as good
    as Herculite.

This is what I get up to with Dental Plaster I make model buildings:

I use it to build model buildings/castles etc and have a room full
of models If interested in molding using plaster check out Hirst Arts.
Bruce Hirst is an American guy who gave up his job to start a business
making Silicone Rubber molds for poeple interesting in casting their own
    pieces for model making.

By the Way have you got Molds for chess pieces?
If you know where they can be bought online let me know!
I made my own chess set from Prince Augest molds in Metal.
