I used to be able to take number 5 & 6 plastics to Ballinasloe for recycling - but since the site closed for the development of the bypass  i haven't come across anywhere else that takes them, Roscommon takes a good range for recycling but not 5 & 6 's.

Does anyone know of a recycling centre in the west/mid west that does ?

    Thank you

PP - Polypropylene (5) and PS - Polystyrene (6) aren't taken at many recycling stations at all. I have a huge bag of PP at home that I'm looking to re-house...http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055118306

I can't understand why there are considerable differences between the waste management policies of the individual local authorities. In the Cork county area you can put PP (5) into your recycling bin, which is collected free of charge, while PS (6) is accepted at a number of recycling centres.

Same problem as that in Mayo, so much PS and PP to recycle but they don't take it!
