Well after Sunday's fun there were some chats about an out-of-Dublin meet, perhaps in the west. I know Ryan has posted about a Fota day trip and I'm not taking from that idea but... anyone be up for another over-nighter... im thinking an island trip in the West - Inis Boffin or Turk something like that? Or the Arans even. I havent been to any yet so I can't make a recommendation. Hell I haven't even made it to the Blaskets yet, some Kerry person I am eh ;)

Maybe late August or September, depending on interest and when suits people... Thoughts? Ideas?

There would be no shorting of photographic subjects, and guaranteed craic! Esp if we get Simon to kick off some singing in the local eh! :D

Anyhoo just putting the idea out there for feedback and suggestions.

Gwan... you know you wanna leave Dublin for a while!! ;)

I'm in, anywhere is fine. I've loads of holidays left for the year so pretty much any date is fine after the peoples photography weekend. Pick a dog friendly place and we'll be there tomorrow :D

i have some time off coming to me during August so i'd very much be interested in something along perhaps the Shannon or the lakes or the west coast or indeed the islands

I'd be interested ... but the next few weekends up to mid Sept are pretty busy for me so it may be difficult to get a free one ...

    I'm busy ...

this weekend visiting Valentia of his island :p
next weekend visiting a very different kind of island in New York :D
the 18th and 19th are free ... but I was hoping to use that weekend to prepare for Peoples Photography ... so I'd prefer not to be travelling ...:o
the 25th and 26th is not free for most of us since we have peoples photography ...:(

    I can do the 1st and 2nd :o... or ....
How about the fair Banner county and this event -

I will probably be attending either way ... since one of our daughter companies is the key sponsor ... I may be doing some photography at it for the sponsors ...

I don't mind when really. The only weekend that is out for me is People's Photography weekend as well so that suits. I'll be off in Londinium commiserating getting older! Sniff

The previous weekend, 18th/19th it's probably better to keep that free like you said Simon. Im sure alot of people will be preparing for PP that weekend. I think I might snap a few Roses if I have nothing better to do ;) Nothing like a few girls on tacky floats eh lol.

I think maybe the start of September would be a good idea. First or second week. The weather is usually good and the tourists are heading home.

How does everyone else fit with those dates?
Anyone have a preference for location? So I could start investigating plans.

Sounds like a great idea. I'd love to visit the west.

I am hoping to be fit to go on this whenever it happens, but this weekend I had to go to Connemara and my chauffeur was kind enough to stop and let me take a few shots.

    And the sun even shone.
