because of the frequent terrible pings............can anyone recommend an alternative that is very reliable and similar cost and speed as digiweb? I am on their 3mbs dsl xtra package and it costs about 40 a month or so. I'm in county limerick btw.

All DSL except LL is eircom.
It shouldn't be terrible on DSL unless eircom has a problem.
I'm on Metro in Co. Limerick and getting as good pings as most DSL users.
Have you talked to Digiweb support about this?

No....I read on here abouit the bad digiweb pings a few weeks ago and was hoping it'd resolve itself. BUt it hasn't improved at all. To US websites I'm getting an average of about 400ms pings.....and about 250ms average to Irish sites. Is metro available in COUNTY Limerick? I thought you could only get that in the city.

Only some bits of Co. Clare and Co. Limerick. Depends on distance and a clear view of RTE mast on Woodcock hill. I'm 6km west of Raheen in the County.
