    Hi,
I recently started renting an apartment and cancelled the existing Chorus digital subscription upon moving in (previous occupier left package connected). Now, with the decoder gone, by chance I notice that some channels remain - RTE1, RTE2, TV3, TG4, Chan4 and Sky - how is this? Are these Chorus analogue channels for free?

The CATV feed is still live, that's why you can still view the analogue channels. For this to be switched off, a Chorus engineer must come and physcially disconnect your feed. It'll probably never happen. Enjoy your free TV.

I thought Chorus encrypted the analogue line-up and leave you with a few 'taster' channels unless you subscribe.

It's the same for someone I know in Cork. They have the four terrestrial channels and Channel 6 and receive letters from Chorus now and again looking for them to sign up.

Yeah, most people in the city get their analogue tv from the chorus line regardless of a subscription or not. Its handy, saves putting an antenna up!;)
