HTPC through a normal TV

I have XBMC setup at the moment and am quite happy with it and its ability to play everything I throw at it. The only other thing I'd like is the ability to use the internet for sites like YouTube etc. XBMC has YouTube but its a little flaky.

So, question is: I have a 28" widescreen CRT TV about two years old. I was thinking of hooking up a HTPC to this but am wary of it producing unreadable text on screen. Have never used XP Media Center edition so I don't know if there's an option for text softening etc so that it looks ok on a non HD TV.

Anyone have a similar set up? THe TV is the important part, does it /can it look good through a normal TV?

    Thanks!

mce looks fine through a crt tv.
    small text however wont.
the mce interface is designed for viewing at a distance, even through a tv so thats fine.
but website text and menus in normal windows would need to be reset to 640x480 (hich is about a tvs resolution - 720x576 to be more exact) in order to become readble

as Subway said, the actual MCE interface will be fine. Forget about web browsing or general PC use though. Its just good enough to use the desktop and troubleshoot if you need to, but remote access software is MUCH better for your eyes!
