Speed guns at a strange place today. On the grass verge opposite the blanchardstown slip inbound. Could have sworn I was done, Garda made a slow down signal but didn't signal for me to pull in, don't think I was going as fast as I first thought. Phew! Typical, the first sunny day and you open the bike up a little more than usual and the feckers are out. C'est la vie!

Never noticed them myself on the way in....though I was at that point at around 7:25am....

Did notice on Saturday that there was 3 checkpoints on the N3, one was just a speed-camera with a patrol car, the next was a checkpoint and then the third on the navan road was another checkpoint??

Surely they can radio one another and say "Oh Hi I'm just down the road from you, this is slightly pointless isnt it?"

    Never cease to amaze me.

You'd be amazed how many people speed just after getting a ticket, or how many people speed up after a checkpoint cos they assume there'll be no more further down the road.

3 checkpoints on the N3, good to know, i was thinking about heading home this weekend coming.

needless to say id be abiding my the speed limits, just wouldn't want to be pulled over for being under the limit ;)

On the Navan road between Little Chef and Halfway house (both ways) is lethal for Garda speed traps and checkpoints. They hide in the little industrial estate before DG Opel approaching Halfway house pub and get you there. Its hard to see them with the bushes but they get you.

    Very true-I do it myself!

I know I was doing 110km going through that checkpoint on the N3 but I wasn't stopped, very inconsistent.

I believe it can be tricky to get a lock on a bike, owing to the limited number of flat surfaces on the front.
