My Girlfriend moved over here from the Uk and Started a Job without a pps number and got emergency taxed for 2 months ( She gets paid monthly) now she has a pps number, she has filled in a 12a form, My Question is will the emergency tax she got taxed but refunded to her in her wages or does she have to apply for it and roughly how long does it take to get it back as its hard enought to live on a monthly wage nevermind being emer taxed from it.

Her employer will get a revised tax cert to use in the payroll calculation and she will pay less tax in her pay until it balances.

She should also be able to apply for a tax rebate from the UK, depending how far gone in the tax year it was. When I moved home from the UK I applied and got a nice few pound. Takes about 2 months tho.

Really? I would have thought it would come through in one lump sum. It's a tax refund basically. I just applied for my rent credit for the year and got it all together in one paycheck. PAYE Paid -€200. Wehey.
