    villain is 18/14/4.6, never seen him do anything like this before.

    Converted at KJpoker.com
    Comments and ratings can be found there.

    Button is in seat 6
    Total number of players: 6

    Seat 1: UTG ($98,00)
    Seat 3: UTG+1 ($359,70)
    Seat 5: Hero ($407,60)
    Seat 6: BTN ($528,10)
    Seat 8: SB ($408,00)
    Seat 10: BB ($520,00)

    SB posts small blind of $2,00
    BB posts big blind of $4,00

    Hero is dealt Js,Qs

    UTG folds
    UTG+1 folds
    Hero raises to $16,00
    BTN calls $16,00
    SB calls $14,00
    BB folds

    Dealing flop 9s,Jc,7s
    Pot is: $52,00

    SB checks
    Hero bets $40,00
    BTN folds
    SB is all-in ($392,00)

    wtf?

    also what if he had just openshoved the flop? does this change my decision?

    a lot of the time when i see someone with solid enough stats do something like this,they turn out to have a very strong draw,or a pair and a draw.

    i guess they just don't want to have to deal with playing the turn if they miss

    8-10 wouldn't make sense against him, my moneys on JJ or he hit the wrong button. (it happens!)

    could be a mis click of the all in button.

    That aside

    With 56 bucks invested this is a clear fold spades are probably your only clean outs.

    He has called from the small blind what range does he do this with?

    I think he might panic push with an over-pair often enough here for it to be worth calling. If they're not in his range then this has got to be a fold.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,894 ✭✭✭✭phantom_lord

    i dunno, but i doubt it's a set or a better draw so i'd call.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,696 ✭✭✭Hectorjelly

    call. I dont really know what his range is here, and I think in these spots you should always err on the side of gambling

    Call.

    i think i lean towards a call as i fancy it's quite often bottom/middle pair with the nut flush draw...

    is it someone playing a straight really scared?
    If they have a set, a straight or possibly badly played overpairs we certainly have equity in the pot.
    equity win tie pots won pots tied
    Hand 0: 47.753% 47.69% 00.07% 25493 36.00 { QsJs }
    Hand 1: 52.247% 52.18% 00.07% 27895 36.00 { JJ+, 99, 77, AKs, KQs, T8s, 97s, T8o, 97o }

    Yer but on that board your equity changes dramatically with that range.

    Hold'em Simulation

    160,380 trials (Exhaustive)

    board: Jc9s7s

    Hand Pot equity Wins Ties
    JJ-AA,99,77,AKs,KQs,T8s,T8,97 70.54% 112,979 322
    QJs 29.46% 47,079 322

    I think a more realistic range for villain is
    Hand 0: 55.826% { JJ, 99, 77, AsKs, J9s, J7s, T8s, 97s, 8s6s, J9o, J7o, T8o, 97o }
    Hand 1: 44.174% { QsJs }

    Plus he could turn up weird stuff like JT etc so def playing for stacks here.

    EDIT: forgot to include AsTs and As8s

    No it doesn't pumpkin was right with the %'s but you can't really include KQs when we have the Qs and he's hardly shoving KhQh

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 396 ✭✭Shadowless

    So wait have you entered the cards on the board into the poker stove calcs or not?

    Of course your equity changes depending on the board btw.
    AK vs 22 preflop does not have the same equity as
    AK vs 22 on an AAA flop.

    I copied and pasted and edited 97s didn't spot the Qs

    Your inputting QJs which includes 4 hands you need to just include QsJs for Hero's hand.

    contrary to popular opinion - i would probably have 99 in this spot :)

    or maybe the nutleys, or maybe no hand/no draw

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,434 ✭✭✭cardshark202

    Yes lol at me folding. I called obv and he had 77 and boated up on the turn. I actually think it was a misclick on his part but mneh. Rigged

    Does nobody else like his push with a set on this board. Especially considering the image you have of him ?
