Broken Iriver and 2gb player recommendation

I dropped my 3 year old Iriver340 while it was charging via usb and now it no longer charges via usb nor able to be connected to the PC (I can't put songs onto it or take songs off it). It's almost full to it's 40gb capacity so there is plenty of music on it I listen to but obviously the latest cds I rip I can't put on it.

So, to remedy this I'd like to either get it fixed cheaply and effectively or get a new 2gb (or 1gb or 4gb) depending on a price/deal. What I want from a flash PMP player is a rechargeable battery by usb and the ability to connect to any pc without drivers to drag and drop songs. Anyone any recommendations?

Also, what should I do about my Iriver about getting it fixed? does this sound like a fixable problem?

2 GB? That would be the Creative Zen Stone Plus.
