Help with my sky tv

    Hi
I had sky a number of years back and then cancelled the subscription but I could still get BBC 1 BBC 24…. sky news ivt1, 2,3,4 chart show hits, b4 etc. I went on holiday for a week with my skybox switched off. When I returned I couldn’t get any sky channel a message comes up saying “no satellite signal been received”. But all of the channel information are been displayed doesn’t this mean I do have a signal? I checked on my services option on my skybox and sure enough it shows the signal strength and quality, which is good. Have sky cut off these programmes because I’m not a customer (which I haven’t been for a few years now) or is it something to do with the sky dish? Any ideas of fixing this problem ?

I suggest you try unpluging your box and allow it to restart. The lightening and rain last week likely upset it a bit. A reboot usually sorts these things out. if that doesnt work then possibly your system suffered some damage in the bad weather and your LNB or possibly the box may be damaged.

i have rebooted it a number of times and still no joy. When i came back from my holiday it worked for a while and then the picture started to go then lossed everything.

Could be dish alignment or trees perhaps growing in front of signal path, or maybe box itself is faulty.
