 .....There was a nice pot to be won on both of these streets Rob. Why not put in a good size bet on the flop?

mm you don't have the second nuts? 77 is possible with the weird bet sizes and I don't think he is bluffing very often, looks like a clear fold.

    Agreed. Bet the flop.

But your title is wrong; you don't have the 2nd nuts, you have the 2nd nut flush, which is about the 25th nuts with paired board. All you really have is a bluff catcher. The pot odds you are being offered is ~5:3. The real question to ask is: will my hand be best here 38% of the time or greater? IMO, without any other information about the player, the answer is no. As played, fold.

Lol, I don't think it once registered that the board paired during or after the hand, what an idiot.
Yeah, flop check is pretty dodgy, my thinking at the time was I didn't want to be faced with a big c/r, thought it would put me in a awkward spot.

I think taking a free card on the flop is OK, you can hit a monster.

Not quite, they had the Ad or the nuts in my head.

The only problem being that that would require a second Ad in the deck considering there's one already on the board! :p
