Was my Paypal hacked into(I definitley wasnt phished)

    Right so tonight i log into my paypal account to find my account access is limited for the following


    PayPal is constantly working to ensure security by regularly screening the accounts in our system. We recently reviewed your account, and we need more information to help us provide you with secure service. Until we can collect this information, your access to sensitive account features will be limited. We would like to restore your access as soon as possible, and we apologize for the inconvenience.
    Why is my account access limited?

    Your account access has been limited for the following reason(s):

    # Jul. 27, 2007: We have reason to believe that your account was accessed by a third party. We have limited access to sensitive PayPal account features in case your account has been accessed by an unauthorized third party. We understand that having limited access can be an inconvenience, but protecting your account is our primary concern.


    now i do understand that they cant get my credit card information or buy anything or change the password and all transactions in the past were my own. but im wondering why its saying this and if someone did get in and bought stuff could they remove the tranaction history for it?
    initially i tried to remove the credit card but couldnt and basically im up ****s creek if anything was bought because its another family members card

    Hours of Service:4:00 a.m. PDT to 10:00 p.m. PDT every day.
    We will only discuss account information with the account holder.

    To verify you are the account holder, please have the following information available when you call:

    * Your primary business telephone number: +353 1XXXXXXX [Change]
    * The last four digits of your primary bank account number: XXXX
    * Your primary email address: XXXX@gmail.com

    The one time I had a problem with PayPal, I rang them and they sorted it out very quickly.

    mike65 helped me out with this a good bit,i went to www.paypal.ie onj a few computers and it said that about my account so my hosts file was fine etc etc but i still dunno why they think my account got hijacked

    This has happened my account a few times - not necessarily hacked but its security measures on Paypals behalf. Its a simple enough process to sort out and they wont release the status on ure account until you send through the information to them.

    well i rang paypal to clarify and sent the stuff and got my account reinstated in les than an hour
