Wireless Access Point questions.....

Ok here is what I want to do......

My uncles house, around 100Meters away has FWA broadband, I want to share his connection to the net.

My plan is this...............Connect his FWA connection to a wireless router, add on a 9 dBi 2.4 GHz Outdoor Antenna and mount said antenna on his roof.

At my house I plan to add a WAP (Wireless Access Point) with another 9 dBi 2.4 GHz Outdoor Antenna, again mounted to the roof.

So as I read it, it should work as follows, the WAP in my house will receive the Wireless signal from the house up the road, and then broadcast that signal around my house? Even if the WAP only has one visible aerial connection?
Any recommendations for a good WAP?

Am I right in thinking a router my end will not work as it wont be able to take the signal in, they only put signal out via Wireless.........?

    Cheers guys!

Could you run outdoor ethernet cable or would it be too much hassle ? The outdoor 9db jobbies will go miles . If you want to go the wireless route and there is no major obstruction down lower , you could get away with a tiny panel antenna on the wall of each house. I'll go dig up a few links for gear that'd suit imo

Thanks Bushy...............i was thinking about the Ethernet option, it would not be too much of a pain, but I think it would work out more costly and we will never be streaming content or doing anything bandwidth intensive between the two houses so i ruled it out.

I also though two 9db antennas might be over doing it, I am pretty sure however I would need at least one outside from the other house as there are a few trees in the way.

If you could get link to a panel antenna that would be great...........thanks!

Quite a few of the FWA operators use a mix of license exempt frequencies together with those they purchased at 3.5GHz and 10.5Ghz, so interference may be an issue, especially if you live in the Dublin area. Let us know how you get on..
