I'm not involved in it but i thought some of you might be interested in hearing about the event. Used to be mad into VW Beetles.

Looks like terrific fun & a worthy cause indeed !

I would really love to take part in something like this, unfortunately my chances of even seeing any of it this year are negative !

I was on this last year. 1327 miles in total around the coast of the country. A fantastic week. Last year i did it in a mates Karmann Ghia and a tent. This year i'll be doing it in my van.

Ha ha! I promise I *won't* break down again this year...erm, actually, that's quite a big promise to make. OK, so I promise to do my best not to be the one who breaks down this year :D

It was absolutely brilliant last year. I completed it in my beloved '84 VW t25....and yes, despite having the youngest vehicle on the trip I was the only with any notable mechanical problems  But am quite impressed with myself for basically driving from Malin Head in Donegal all the way down to Camp in Kerry with basically no clutch, due to my master cylinder and slave cylinder both giving up the ghost completely! But thanks to the amazing club network we have, numerous non-participating club members from all over the country rallied around to beg, borrow and steal replacement parts for me from other members vans, and get them delivered to our over-night stop in Kerry, whereby they were fitted by a fellow participant and I completed the drive with no further incidents. You can't buy support and fellowship like that!

Really looking forward to it this year! 17 days to go!!! (and I just got a brand new slave cylinder put in :D )

If you can't join us this year in your vw, be sure to pencil it in for future years...and if you spot us on the road this August be sure to wave and hoot, and if you see us shaking our buckets in your local town...well, you know what to do with your loose change

The Eireball run starts this week. If anyone wants to join in at any stage along the trip, please do. It's open to all. The more the merrier.

Currently installing a new engine into my van. Mine blew on the M7 during the week. :D

Is your Dad Brian with the blue camper from Dublin?

A load of us are leaving for Armagh tomorrow from Dublin. We'll be on the M7/M50/M1 around 3ish. Keep an eye out for us and give us a wave
