    hey all,
Just the one pic of an old carriage at Foynes Railway Station... Its a really cool place to photo, few old carriages, and the old derelict station. Must get back there in better weather. Was very overcast this day.. Still a good location for anyone in Limerick area..
Have a good few more photos but havent had time to go through them all..

The big band of white sky puts me off.

It's a pity the sky is so lifeless but it does look like a good location to go back to. I might get out there myself sometime, where abouts in Foynes is it? Maybe if you crop down a tad the sky would be less overwhelming? Or you might be able to get some detail back if you shot in raw?

That looks like an amazing place. Worst thing with the weather is definitely a bland sky - have you any shots that don't actually have sky in them? There must be some fabulous details of those old carriages to be had. Oh, I'm jealous...

Ive stopped there a few times on my weekly drive through Foynes, its a good spot alright ;) Few old carriages at home as well near the old Blennerville steam train station, always makes a nice subject.

actually, i think a subject like that would benefit more from the flat light of an overcast day.
i had thought the photo was taken in sunlight.

Definitely a great subject to shoot. If the shot was taken from a bit further back it may help the composition a bit, bringing the diagonal to the top right corner and possibly enhancing the sense of abandonment by introducing more space around the train. The sky does need darkening down or texturing, perhaps a filter may have been the jobby.

Good work though, will explore the area next weekend when I'm over that way...

Thanks for all the comments. Yes its not the best shot of the bunch but hope to have more up tomorrow.
@latchiko - Its directly opposite the Flying Boat Museum
@elven - Yes its very cool, the old carriages are excellent, ya have other shots check out my flickr tomorrow for them.
@ all.. Yes the sky is definitely a let down.. Shot with a Sony H2 which doesnt help.. Need to upgrade and SOON.

Anyone know of any other abandoned train stations etc in Limerick/Tipp region? They are excellent places to shoot.
