    3. Diploma in Book-keeping and Accounts by Kilroy's College.

I am economist in finance. But the Kilroy's isn't accredited by IAB, this isn't big problem? Is the Kilroy's Well known? Thanks:rolleyes:

I wouldnt worry about that too much personally.

I have no idea about the college in question. But a quick look at the college website makes me think it looks ok.

In life you are what you are.Degrees help you achieve your goals but at the end of the day its your mind your thinking which will get you JOB.

Also have a look at the following link

    Hi there,

If you would like a little bit adventure and also a chance to expand a career in accounting and finance, have a look at ACCA's Certified Accounting Technician exams. Recognition is not an issue as it is brought by one of world's leading accountancy body. :p a bit of pimping.

Hi, I changed my mind, I won't go to Kilroy's. So, now I ask: whick body well known here:
    - IAB (International Association of Book-keepers) or
    - ICB (The Institute of Certified Bookkeepers) ?
I know, both of them organize distance learning courses. But, what do you think, which is useful here? Both of them are english. :)

    Hi Zsuzso71,

Ultimately do you want to become a chartered accountant?

If you do, the best decision is to try to find a job that will enable you to study for acca, cima, cpa (even aca) in your spare time. Ideally you would be sponsored, but if not - so be it.

I get the feeling though that you want to do a course to get your head in the door? And you can't get your head in the door without some form of book keeping under your belt?

IMO it doesn't matter so much which course you do, it is more the fact that you did it, are motivated and enthusiastic. That will land you the job.

So do whichever is cheapest, and most convenient for you.

    Thanks:)
I have a job in a factory. I like it very much, but this job is not sure. So, I want to make some courses, what I can work part-time besides the main job. I have to be flexible in the factory, I can learn only with distance learning. Anyway, I am hungarian, I am looking for any international course. I must pay for myself, so the ACCA, CIMA, CPA won't be good. They are terrible expensive. So, I am looking for a course by ICB or IAB. These are same prices, just I don't know, which is more famous here. Thanks for your answer again:)

    Hi all,

I have been looking into doing an online course in project management with a crowd called INTERNATIONAL CAREER INSTITUTE.

Has anyone ever heard of these guys before and if anyone knows of any other good distance learning facilities all info would be much obliged.

    Chris.
