Making money from Blogs

Hi all,

I have been thinking about ideas for making some extra cash on the web for a long time now and I have looked at blogs, researched it on the net and all the noise around it was that it was easy to make a few quid out of it.

I want to hear from people who do have a blog which turns over some money ( I am not talking about a fortune here), even enough for a few pints on a Friday.

• What is the secret to it
• What are the "must" things to do
• Or any other points of interest you can think of.

I think the secret to it is being a good writer that can hold people's interest so that they keep coming back. Bit of an obvious secret...

I know what you mean, but say if I was using adsense or the amazon associates type method of generating revenue, does anyone know of any tactics to increase the click through rate?

Ad placement is probably the key.

I'd recommend checking out the adsense official blog to start with
