Hi all. I have a 3Com Wireless router (Irish Broadband) thro' my desktop and for the last few months have been using my Laptop with Wireless Broadband connection. However it has suddenly started to act up and when I try to connect to the internet from the laptop I get 'the page cannot be display' even though it tells me that the signal strength is excellent it also sometimes says status:limited or no connectivity. I still have a succesful internet connection from my desktop. Can anybody shed any light please?!
    Many thanks

The limited or no connectivity warning usually refers to the client failing to obtain an IP address by DHCP. Is your desktop assigned an IP address by DHCP or has it a static IP address?

You can do a comparison of the network settings on each. Open the Command Prompt [Start --> All Programs --> Accessories --> Command Prompt]. Enter "ipconfig /all" [without the quotes] and hit Enter. Do this for both the desktop and laptop. You're interested in 'Local Area Network 1' or similar for the desktop and Wireless LAN or similar for the desktop.

does your desktop load pages OK? is your desktop connected via a cable to the 3Com?

If you're still having 'limited connectivity' messages coming up, try resetting the 3Com. Make sure you have IP settings as these will be wiped and will have to be entered again and saved in the router config.
