You won't get it on that box this side of 2009.

You have four options to get Channel 4 in Leixlip:
    1: NTL
2: Sky, but its missing some shows
3: An FTV card - you'll need to source this yourself, no shops sell them
4: A Massive, MASSIVE TV aerial on a big pole. This relies on you living in Confey or around Louisa Bridge and not down in River Valley though. And its analogue.

on the phone today to Sky and while awaiting an operator their advertising jingle proclaimed that "now all packages contain Channel 4"
I thought that was already the case, I may be completely mistaken.
Their jinglebot may have just being looking for something to say;)

you can use it with your lidl dish....

I thought sellers weren't allowed to sell Freesat From Sky cards on eBay anymore? I know it's a lot harder to find the cards on eBay anyway.

There are other websites that sell these cards though.

i found a website selling these cards but they are all in england =[
does the card have to be married to the box

The card does not need to be married to the box.

An FTV card will work in any sky box but often will take a few hours for some channels such as channel 4 to appear, but well worth it...I know a guy who sells FTV cards from Cork, but have no idea of what he charges.

if you can get his email for me then pm me it if you could
so your sure it doesnt need to be married to the sky box
some guy in letterkenny a week ago wanted €100 for the card

Yes, sure it doesn't need to be married to box. Best to have get one that's already activated, save you the hassle. I've used satone.tv for cards in the past, never any problems.

No bother! :) €100 is very steep for what costs around £20-£25. I notice Satone prices seem to have went up. Used to be cheaper. Shop around.

You get the following extra channels with an ftv card

    CH4
    CH5
    Five US
    Five Life
    Fox News
    Sky Three

not sure if you get anything else but certain channels do open up from time to time to tease you into subscribing. I currently have setanta golf and setanta Ireland open ..never checked these before so thanks for the query...

I've been searching quite a few websites now, and £50 sterling seems to be the norm from resellers.

I've found a few by searching for "Sky card" on Buyandsell.ie for 50eur
