I recently sold my line 6 spider ii 30 and today the new owner rang me with a question. Apparently he's found a small wire with what looks like a computer connection tucked up on top of the speaker. I never noticed this and its obviously not a disconnected wire as the amp still functions perfectly. Any one any clue as to what this is?

What sort of computer connection? Could be for upgrading the firmware or plugging in a Variax.

I'm not sure, when he said computer connection I'm assuming something like a usb connection. It might be for upgrading the firmware as I thought these amps pre-dated the variax? Maybe I'm wrong

you sure he isnt just talking bout the footswitch, it uses the same cable as a broadband connection like.

Patricide, Yeah I'm certain about that, I'd given him the footswitch and showed him where it went. He says this a white wire about 6 inches long with a connection point on the end. It seems to start somewhere above the speaker but he wasnt clear about that. Tbh, I never noticed it and I can't find anything on the net about it. Maybe its what Feylya said about upgrading but is this something you could do yourself or would you need to take it to a dealer?
