Thinking about getting sky+, can some-one answer the following q's ?

How big is the harddrive in the current boxes and how many hours of recording does it give you ?
Also, is it worth connecting the spdif port to the av receiver ? Is there much shows shown with 5.1 surround sound ?

    thanks...

The cureent boxes are 160Gb as far as I know,80 is available for recording and 80 is partitioned for the likes of Sky Anytime.Even if you dont avail of anytime, you cant access that pasrt of the harddrive.

I`m not sure how many hours you can get on 80GB.Its twice the capacity of the older boxes and I rarely fill it up,although it usually is around 75% full.If you have a HD Sky box and are recording HD material it will eat the space up much quicker.

Its definitely worth connectiong a receiver to the digital connection. If you subscribe to the movie channels then you will get alot of 5.1 material.

A found that a SD episode is about 2%, a HD episode about 11%
