    Hi,

Well I've been playing poker for about 4 years. Just for fun. Won a few tourneys with prizes of 5k and 8k but never kept the money online.

What I want to know if do you think a person could start a bankroll with only €50?

I have deposited €50 into my account this morning and will be starting to build it this evening (I hope), The advice i need is what should i play. Should i stick to the $2 SnG's or should i play $5? What about playing the $0.05 and $0.10 games?

I'm not a pro but not a beginner; I can play well as long as i don’t tilt :)

Any advice would be great thanks.

Stretch it to 200euro and bonus whore alot of sites, stick with STTs if you get good return on them for clearing your bonuses.

Play on a new site so, many sites offer a 100% deposit bonus, some even offer 110% so it would be well worth your while searching for these sites.

Well the answer to the question is yes, I started with $50 and are still going strong. Still bonus whoring makes your life so much easier to build it up so find sites with deposting bonuses and rakeback and it will help no end.

Edit: In saying all this, I managed to get the 50 up to over a grand without bonus whoring or rb of any kind but I was stupid, don't do it like me.

guys how do you find these bonuses in sites?
I play on poker stars but would change if I got a good bonus (say on a €100 investment) any good sites or help about these bonuses would be appreciated.

Without going into deposit bonuses and suchlike, the way to build up from a small stake is through proper bankroll management, which is one of those things that I know about in theory but find hard to apply in practice.

There are a number of good threads on here relating to BR management and what % of your BR you should play for different types of game in order to minimize your chances of going broke. By sticking to these guidelines and having a lot of patience then it's very possible to build up a sizable roll from a stake of $50.

I heard Chris Ferguson has done this online once or twice as a kind of publicity stunt or experiment - built up to $20k from $20, or $10k from starting off with $0 (!) - not sure what degree of success he had but it was enough to act as a proof of concept to any online player. Once when he did this he was playing using a fixed-rule system in NL ring games where he would go all-in preflop with AK or JJ-AA and fold everything else.

I think he did it for real too because I remember reading something he wrote about the discipline required to move down stakes when you take a substantial beating, and how hard he found it.

started with $100 at $10NL and am still grinding up, now at $50NL, definitely possible, though $100 is not rolled enough for $10NL, but if you have some poker experience, just play weak tight at that level and after a couple of weeks you'll be properly rolled.

Be prepared for some crazy outdraws! Hate to recommend bad BR management but if you are only gonna lodge 50 you will have to take some risks...

Micro-limit is good for a short bankroll, just play tight and you're sorted. It might be hard to clear bonuses playing it tho.

www.pokerlistings.com, although this site may have developed into quite a spammy site, I used it a couple of years ago and completed about 8 signup bonuses on different sites.

The reason I said try to stretch your initial deposit to 200euro is because you will probably need to play $0.10/$0.20NL and higher to clear bonuses at a reasonable rate.

Yes it's possible, I'd look at it as a "Challenge". GL ;)

I started with €20 and played the lowest stake available to me (.10/.20) and soon managed to double up through some very tight play but admittedly required some good fortune after being on the brink several times (eg: beating a flopped two pair with trips on the turn and four of a kind on the river) to get to where I am now (I'm still at .10/.20, but well on my way to moving up levels).

I'd recommend Ladbrokes.com, they offer a 100% Welcome Bonus (up to €500), up to 30% rakeback, several $500 freeroll MTTs daily, they also have regular promotions and I got $50 for creating a player profile. It mightn't sound like much, but to a player with a small initial amount to deposit, these things certainly make a difference. They've also now introduced Micro stakes table which suit those with a small bankroll much better than the .10/.20 tables would.

There's probably better deals around, but Ladbrokes are the only Poker Site that I have experience with other than a few iPoker skins.

The level of play on laddies is awful aswell. Cant stand the software though.

Aye, I should have mentioned that because they utilise their own network, many of the players at the lower stakes are those who are only trying out poker because of a notice they saw down the betting shop and EXPECT to lose money.
