Streaming divx's to ps3

    Just got my ps3 yesterday and setup nero media home for sharing/transcoding my divx's to the ps3 on the fly so no need to convert them now with ps3 video9 first. Ufortunatley performance is not the best as it's a wireless connection from the pc to the router and back again to the ps3. So will probably put in a hard line at some stage. Just wondering for now though, with my laptop can I plug a crossover cable directly into the ethernet port on the ps3 and still stream stuff. The manual only shows connections going through a router.

    On another note, will a WD Scorpio 250gig 5400rpm drive work on the PS3 ?
    I assume it's wise to keep the rpm the same, and run a cool running drive which WD claim this is.

    I presume it will work once you setup a network between the pc and ps3.
