Anyone go to any festival or plan to this summer?
    I want stories!:p

Personally i went to the blue note records festival in Ghent, Belgium for 3 days. Had a fantastic time. It was a great little festival with a nice mix of genres, great food and atmosphere and it was'nt packed so you can walk around with your legs fully extended sometimes!

I saw Charlie Haden West Quintet which was f**king fantastic- the highlight being a really great version of the Ornette Coleman song Lonely Woman off the Shape of Jazz to come album. Apparently the band has been together for 21 years and they're certainly tight as hell.

The other highlight for me were Medeski, Scofield, Martin and Wood. The funkiest of the funk and the trippiest of trippy- some of the improvs were very strange but there was great communication between the four. Seeing Scofield play was a real pleasure to as he's one of my favourite guitarists, the guy really chooses his notes carefully (and makes the craziest of facial expressions!).
