Getting a job in a council

How does one going about getting a job in a council? I know there is publicjobs.ie but is there any other better way? Should I contact the personnel people in the civic offices?

My mother is going back to work and would like to job share due to other commitments. Councils are the only places that really do this so it’s a good place to start I think. I told her I would help her out. She will apply for almost anything so that should broaden her chances!

Well first go into Civic offices to Block 4 floor 4.This is where Human Resources is. They will have application forms beside the reception desk. Or ask girl at reception does she know of any jobs that are up and coming.

The only thing is that if there aren't any up and coming jobs, then I don't think they will give her an application form.

But If you want gary I have a standard application form I could email you and get your mam to fill it out and you never know.Actually you can download it from Dublin City Council Click on the Standard application form. Also there is contact information above in the link, give HR a call or email them...

    Goodluck.
