    Just a quick Q , i downloaded the bittorrent client from bittorrent.com

    What exactly is it uploading when i download files?

    What you've already downloaded, and occasional progress data to the torrent tracker.

    Exactly. Torrents are based on the idea that you use your upload bandwidth to share files. So if you download a file (let's say the latest episode of pure pwnage), you do so by downloading from other people who are uploading to you. As such you should upload at least the same amount that you have downloaded. That way you're not just "leeching". For more information, check wikipedia.
