If you are looking for gamble though try heading into the jackpot for the 5 euro unlimited rebuys which usually has a big enough prize pool to justify spending 50-100 quid on rebuys

This is one of the bad points of the SE as far as I am concerned if true. There have been several occasions when the poker room has been closed due to private functions and show that the people who run the SE have little regard for the poker players overall. I enjoy playing in the SE, and am playing there more recently. I disagree that the atmosphere is dead in there as posted by another poster. The player pool is sufficiently small in Dublin that if you are a regular in one room and go into another you will know a decent proportion of players in there.

The people that manage the cardroom are good at their job and I have good time for them, and the above is in no way aimed at them. They have done a very good job in creating a good cardroom with good games, but the fact that there is an announcement less than 24 hours before a private function that enforces a closure is not good for the regular player.

Ah now you have to agree that there are alot of ppl who play in the SE who wouldn't be in the fitz, put it this way from a fitz regular - i went to the SE a few times in the last week or so - and i recognised at most 10 ppl.

Who are you if you don't mind me asking? PM if you want. I have been curious for a while.

Won the €5 gamblefest in the Jackpot. €580 for a €25 outlay!! I beat Conor Bloomfield HU. I outdrew him in a key hand where I flopped an openender and pushed over the top of his flop bet on a 9 high board - he called with KK (oooops). I hit on the river. After that I had a big chip lead and got it in with Q9 v Q8 and hit two 9's for good measure.. I really enjoyed it.

i wouldnt go near the fitz after the calamity there the other night, stay well clear of them is my advice. you could end up with three people left and they could tell you that the guy who finished fourth is the actual winner.

This comment is in no way helpful to anything. If you have issue with the Fitz then you are entitled to not go there again. I'm sure your business will be sorely missed.

Played the gambool fest in the jackpot after turning up at the SE and being informed that i'm not a very important person.

Had a good laugh in the rebuy despite having to rebuy 8 times due to some spectacular outdraws (was ahead at least 6 of the times where i had to rebuy). Went out just after the break. Ended up in a cash game and ran well, so a fun night overall.

I think that maybe in future the SE could post something on Boards etc., about future closures.....

After doing a lap or 3 got parking near the S.E. but Christy (ming the merciless, manager from Barcode) drove bye and told me that it was closed, private party. Went to the Fitz €100 game and got caught with the not 1, not 2 but 3 bluffs:rolleyes:
Eventually slowplayed Kings only to find a call from a guy with J2 who called my re-raise all in (for 2K) on a J high board..... J on the river sealed my fate.

I know that people are a bit piss*d off with the Fitz and the ladbrokes but comments from Mr. Flash as below

(Or his comment from the Ladbrokes Thread.)it might be a good idea to close this thread , as it has deeply affected me for one, so much so, that i will never darken the door of this venue again. if they dont want to investigate it, they are not doing what most customers would like to see. so i for one will never play there again

    are completely over the top.

i defo agree with you smuph in relation to the fitz - most complains from ppl seem to be over the top.

but back to ur bluffing - you got caught bluffing 3 times in the one night???? am i reading this right? or is martin posting under ur name?? lol :)

Came 4th in the Fitz lastnight,
Was originally heading into the SE Late as I was working but rang ahead to see what the numbers where like only to be told ‘closed to a private function’
hmmm could have sent texts to people to let them know because if there was a big game coming up they would surely text you to let ya know…..

Anyways had a good chip lead for most part of this tournie but lost 1 -2 big pots when there was 2 tables left, so was below average going to the final table, got a couple of nice hands only to be rivered twice, then four handed I get K9s on the button and everyone limped so naturally I push [blinds:- 1500 / 3000 I had around 26k] only to be called by AQ…..
A on the flop and that was all she wrote….
Really enjoyed this game good structure – All the talk last night was about CoolHand Lukes opening up….. Gowan the Luke…..;)

ohhh yeah a deal was done 3-ways, some guy took 2k and the other two took 1200 and a ticket into the EOM game..

I know, decided to try this bluffing malarky, being that im a rock of course (cough cough) and I get called twice by "Eddie the Eagle", then I lose with pocket 9's when I call his re-raise all in and he turns over Ac2c (we know what happened next)

I played the tournament last night like it was a €20 multi-re-buy turbo game. Ah well, it was fun but I don't think it will be a long term thing.

Eddie is part of a renegade group who like to call themselves the "unbluffables"!

I hate that group of ppl....but you soon learn which ppl are in this unique group, and just don't bluff when there in the hand - and when u have the nuts, watch them call and the chips come towards you... unless they get unbelievable lucky.
