You can either attach them to your post (they will show up as an attachment then) by clicking Manage Attachments in the Additional Options box under the Sumbit Reply/Preview Post button or you can upload it to imageshack or flickr and then use the code [noparse]myimage.jpg[/noparse] to show your image on the thread.

The easiest way I have found is to go to the page of the image you want to insert and copy its URL, then click the insert image button in the reply box and paste the URL in there and press OK. Then go to the page you want to link to and copy its URL, next highlight all the text (including the IMG tags) produced when you inserted the image and click the insert link button. Paste the URL in there and click OK, then preview your post and your image should be there, and you should be able to click on it through to its page.

    Clear as mud.

    arghh !!!

    still cant do it

    ive images on flickr

can someone do it stepwise for an image in flickr

this is doing my head in

re attachments - i use aperture on a mac so i would have to export a jpeg version which is another step and more hassle - id rather do it directly from flickr

right click on your image in flickr and select "copy image location"
In your post type then paste your link and type

Since the link (http://static.boards.ie/vbulletin/images/misc/vbulletin3_logo_white.gif for example) is wrapped in IMG tags vBulletin will know to load your image inline.

    Resulting in this:

    vbulletin3_logo_white.gif

Quote this post to view the syntax

You have to remove the ?v=0 from the end of the url - it needs to end in an image type!

works ONLY when you paste the URL to an actual picture. The URL must end with jpg, gif, bmp, etc. Also there must be no spaces, see your link below.[IMG][/img]http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1061/869793076_cdfe99956c.jpg?v=0 won't work
[noparse]869793076_cdfe99956c.jpg[/noparse] will work and look like

    Ooo that second one's nice!

    Wow! love the second!
Anyway Feileacan. All you have to do is Click on the all sizes button above the image you want in Flickr. Then click on the image size you want....most times it's medium as you don't want to be displaying a massive image in a browser. The scroll down a little and in the second window you'll see some text.....like this for instance.

    [noparse]468530596_16bc97f409.jpg[/noparse]

And this results in a clickable pic that brings you to the photos page in Flickr. The way you have done it above is against Flickr's T&C's. I don't imagine they ever follow up on little infringements, but it's always nice to be on the safe side.

Hey Roen - when I do that I only get the image's url like this:
    http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1286/870201185_cac834ddef.jpg

ie without the IMG or URL tags. I only noticed there that the T&Cs state to use the first box, which on mine has the full HTML code - the a href...img scr with the <> boyos. Is there an option I'm not seeing that'll give the tags as you have them above? (ie - with the URL and IMG tags nested). An yes, I *am* that lazy that I couldn't be bothered typing them. Never noticed that I should link back...

What I do is highlight the image tags and everything inside them, then click the insert link button and paste the URL of the page you want to link to into the box and press ok.

I never could get the code in the first box in the flickr page to work.

Hmmm it should give you the proper code underneath the one you just posted.
What I used to do was get the url of the photo page and the url of the image and wrap the lot in the IMG and URL tags. Like so.... [noparse]468530596_16bc97f409.jpg[/noparse]

YOu obviously just need to replace the image url and photo page url with your own.
Probably the easiest way to do it though is to "Quote" someone and see the code in the quote. The just paste your own links in instead.

Nah I'm not seeing the full one. Sigh... guess I'll just have to actually type it! Shock horror! :D Thanks anyway Roen.

Hey I just noticed in the T&C too: Your account will be terminated if we find you using it to host graphic elements of web page designs, icons, smilies, buddy icons, forum avatars, badges, and other non-photographic elements on external web sites.

Does that mean the Bighugelabs widget thingey too? I link that from my profile page there. Anyone ever hear of them giving hassle for that? its a third party thing isn't it?
