will have around a 1000 to spend on a new (old) bike at the end of the month
(its a long way until my compensation will go thorugh and need to get back on 2 wheels)

does anyone know of any bargains floating around / mates selling decent bikes.

im looking for something in the 4-600cc bracket.
bandits / hornets / bros / super4 etc etc etc
    naked street bike style preferably,
    year/ milelage and cosmetics irrelevant.
all i need is low maintenance and good running order

please help a broken brother find his way again :D

You won't get much bike for €1000. I'm selling a cb-1 but I won't go as low as that for it. If you get a bike for €1000 expect to pay around €500 to get it in decent condition and safe to ride. Most will need tyres replaced etc...

ill keep my eye out for you

The initial comp for bike & clothing repair comes through pretty quickly, around 2-3 months for me. but you should get on to your solicitor that is handling your case and inform him that you are without transport & he should get in contact with the insurance company to organise a rental car

I'm not in a rush and, anyway, I don't think its what you'r looking for but I've been thinking of selling my '92 Yamaha Tenere 750.

She's perfect, it's just that I moved to another big bike and am finding that the effort of keeping two similar bikes is not worth while.

She is in daily use, new tires, scott oiler, just serviced with new plugs, air filters, carbs balanced, Bagalux cover on tank.

If you might be interested let me know, if not no harm done. I'd be looking for more than €1K though.

I get Bike Buyers Guide Magazine every month and they have a very good range of second hand bikes both from Bike shops and private sellers.

    You'd probably find something there
