Im running 2.25 BB/100 over the last 20k hands at 50NL but heres how my positional stats fair out:

    Button: +$753
    SB: -$494
    BB: -$402
    UTG: +$45
    MP: + $322
    CO: +$202
    Total: +$425

Is it normal to be losing so much in comparison to other positions from the blinds, i expect to be losing but should it be so high, i know 20k isnt a huge sample but its decent enough??

sample probaly isnt big enough, but you shouldnt be losing more money from the SB then the BB should you?

It's very unlikely for anybody to make a profit from the blinds over a large sample. It happens, but it's rare.

If you're making back at least some of your blinds then that's good.

One way to improve your win rate is to tighten up from the blinds, stop playing marginal hands, etc. so you're not getting yourself into reverse implied odds situations. But this is only a short term solution.

Playing OOP is tough but it's an important skill to learn for when you're playing higher stakes. If your opponents notice that you're very tight from the blinds they can raise with any two and run you over.

Maybe you could try dropping down a few levels and putting yourself in really awkward spots from the blinds on purpose, try out different lines, see what works. You don't have to do it now but if you find the same problems as you move up then it could be worth a try later on.

Proper play from the blinds isn't written about much but I'll find some threads on 2+2 for ya.

There's a few threads about playing from the blinds in the 2+2 anthology, read them to get some discussion on it.

After reading those I suggest reading this thread which has a very interesting discussion about a hand played from the blinds at medium stakes, and should also show you why being able to play well OOP will become important as you move up.

Thanks a million Red, ill have a read of those. I just began a little more investigating and in the SB my Top 11 losing hands highest loss first are:

AQo,AKo,KK,K6s,AK,AJ,K7s,AJo,A9o,QQ and the next 10 are pretty decent hands aswell so the majority of the losing isnt from playing marginal hands and ive looked through all them hands a few were 3/4 of my stack and the rest about half a stack and in all of them i had a good hand i.e TPTK, TPGK, Overcards, Flush Beaten by FH and one missed FD where i lost half a stack. Anyway point being it dosent look like im losing from the SB because im playing marginal hands on missed flops so it looks very like bad variance.

This is interesting, ive not completed the blinds 2599 of 3600 losing $697 by just folding and ive made $155 for the 1130 times i put money in the pot. Thats a savage amount to be losing and it looks like im way too tight?????

In the BB, again it looks pretty ok Top 10 losing hands in order of higest lost first:
    A5 (2 pair lost 1 buyin)
AK (K high flop, dont usually get all in with TPTK but lost a buyin)
67s (Flopped combo pair + FD draw lost 1 buyin)
    34o (Flopped 2 pair lost 3/4 buyin)
AQo (Lost 1/2 buyin on Q High flop)
ATo (Lost 1/2 buyin on A high flop)
TT (All in preflop against half stack donk lost to K8)
9Ts (lost 1/2 buyin with FD)
22 (Lost 1/2 buyin set over set)
54s (Lost 1/2 buyin with combo pair + FD)

and here the next few losers: A3s,65s,QQ,KK,AJo,TT,JJ,55,KQ

so it looks very like my biggest losses are with decent hands and considering i can play profitably from UTG,MP OOP then i dont think its due to marginal hands. I presume roundtower was referring to the sample size when he said meaningless so maybe that sample is too small and it looks like bad variance more than anything. The BB was over 3600 hands aswell.

Ive checked (free card) 1530 times losing $139
    Called a raise 243 times winning $50
    Raised 180 time winning $266
    Folded 1430 times losing $723

Again am i folding too much

I know im obviosly going to lose from the blinds but what im getting at is, am i losing too much, am i too tight, too loose or is this normal? In concerned im way too tight in the SB and this is where im losing? Anyway ill read up on thise threads and see if i can pick anything up
