Good link, thanks. I'm surprised the MCSE specialist numbers are so low, I figured most folks would at at least add one.

What i think is interesting is that there is only 560 people with all 3 MCPDs. Good news for me!!!

Something doesn't add up there. How can there be more MCSE's than MCSA's when they both share the same exams?

Upgrades.. dont require MCSA exams.. but by virtue of being an MCSE you should be an MCSA no???

Upgrades from what though? There's about 200,000 more MCSE's than MCSA's...

I am actually surprised to know there are so little MCSE 2003 in the world (83.000).
I think people over the past years lost interest in upgrading their certs.
I mean for me that was the case, when I passed my MCSE NT4, 2000 came out, I passed a couple on 2000 only and took like a 4 years break before getting the full 2000 and 2003 track finished.
And now 2008 exams are almost out...give us a break for god sake !!

Agreed, they have now brought in for the developers that achieve the MCPD that you will have to recertify every 3 years or loose the certification. In this case it may be if the certification required x+y+z exams but has changed to a+y+z then you would only have to do the a exam. So if you are an early adopter then you will have to do your upgrades quicker...

Also all certs now retire when the technology for them retires. So MCSE 2008 will retire when 2008 is retired... but you could still be an MCSE on NT 3.51 :p
